Out of the Office, into the Compound

Income Generating Activities Apiyo Nighty has been working with Krochet Kids for just over a year and has already begun an IGA, or Income Generating Activity, selling rice. She started selling rice grown by others, but recently planted two acres of her own rice. Nighty hopes to eventually go back to school and start a farming business with the money she is earning through crocheting and her IGA. The beneficiaries at Krochet Kids Uganda are encouraged and mentored to pursue Income Generating Activities to supplement their income from KKi. Not only do these activities provide additional income but they also encourage business experience, which is invaluable to the ladies and the families they provide for. KKU is continuing to change the lives of women in Uganda through your continued support and purchases. Stay tuned to learn more about the women behind our hats!
