Throughout her life, Doreen has witnessed much turmoil due to the war. She lost her uncle and several other beloved ones who were in a hut that was burnt down by the rebels. She was fortunate enough to attend school for a while, but ultimately had to drop out because her father could no longer afford to pay for the tuition for her and her siblings. KK Uganda has given Doreen the opportunity to save money to send her children to school, give them better healthcare and to feed them.
