As a child, Adong Janet and her sister were forced to take care of all household chores as their stepmother was unwilling to do so. Although she married young to escape this life, she and her husband often struggled to earn enough money to support themselves and their family, which nearly led to their separation. Today, Janet is able to help her husband support their family and is saving money that she hopes to use to send her children to school.
