Betty was greatly affected by the war in Northern Uganda. By the time the war subsided, her family’s lockup shop had been looted and both her father and husband had been killed by the rebels. She was then forced to relocate with her three children and join her mother in a nearby town where she decided to begin a business in baking. Now she is remarried, has six children, and is working with Krochet Kids intl. to earn five times as much as she did before in order to send all of her children to school.
