Despite her mother’s hard work, the death of her father caused much hardship for Agnes and her family. Looking for a better life, Agnes went to live with her uncle where she was then brutally mistreated by his wife which led to her decision to drop out of school and flee back to her mother. After being home for one week, Agnes was abducted by the rebels and lived in captivity for two months. Being apart of KKU has given her the finances to seek medical treatment, provide food, and buy household items for her and her family. The program has also enabled her to pay for her children’s education.
DREAM FOR FUTURE
“My future dream is to educate my children, buy a plot of land to build for my children, and seek thorough medical treatment for a disease that has tortured me for close to eight years. Now I know that all will be fine because I can now afford the medical drugs.”
