Out of the Office, into the Compound

Ocwee Grace Last week I ventured out to Ocwee Grace's home village to visit the projects she has been working on since joining Krochet Kids; what a fun time we all had! Part of the blessing of my job is that I get to know the families and original homes of where the women come from before the war happened here in Northern Uganda. Grace has a large family with some of the most welcoming smiles I've ever encountered! When I walked up through her bean fields, all of her family members flocked our direction to greet us and offer us some snacks. Grace and her family have purchased and farmed on some large pieces of land, and her bean fields were in peak season during our visit. Grace helps support her family as they farm produce to sell with her earnings from her work making hats.
