Rose and her six siblings were raised by their loving grandmother after losing their Mother at a young age. To help support the family, she and her brothers had to dropout of school to farm neighbors’ garden for very little pay. Sadly, Rose was abducted at the age of 13 by the LRA. She was in captivity for a whole year and experienced unthinkable things. At one point she sustained a bullet wound during a fight between the government soldiers and the rebels. Fortunately, Rose escaped and things have turned around for her. Since entering the KKU program, she has been providing meals for her family and for the first time in a while, she can think about planning for her future.
DREAM FOR HER FUTURE
“I dream of buying a piece of land for my children. I also want to pay for my children to attend higher levels of education so they can have a brighter future.”
“Love means staying in harmony with one another and being with them during both the good and bad times.”
MESSAGE TO KKi
“I am filled with so much thanks and appreciation for the goodness you have done to the women of Northern Uganda. Blessings to you and your families.”
