Recap: VSCO x KKi Launch Party

All the details from the party by the Bay.

This past Friday, June 6th, was our VSCO x KKi launch party up in the Bay Area. We were thrilled to have an opportunity to spend time with the VSCO team and share our partnership with everyone. The night began with a photo gallery of images taken when VSCO visited our empowerment project in Lima, Peru. Juxtaposed on a brick wall were photographs telling the story of their trip. The combination of raw city landscapes and close-up images of the ladies working on their items, gave partygoers and team members alike, a tangible sense of who all of this was for. It was for them, our ladies, the ones whose proud smiles were sent all the way from Lima to this industrial space east of San Francisco. Branches took the stage and played a fantastic set of songs that got everyone grooving. But the positivity and excitement really culminated after a screening of VSCO's film documenting the inspiring story of one specific KKPeru beneficiary, Pilar Vila. It set the stage for one of our founders, Kohl, to get up and conduct a Q&A with VSCO co-founder, Joel Flory, and his wife, Cara. They explained the VSCO x KKi partnership, the beanies, and how moved they were to see the impact firsthand on the ground. Joel and Cara had been to KKPeru. Many of the pictures hung up were theirs. They'd seen the ladies and the smiles, spent time with the women, and were able to share how sincerely powerful that experience was with the audience. We were so honored and excited to collaborate with VSCO, and it was incredible to see how enthusiastic everyone was about the partnership and the work happening because of VSCO Give and KKPeru. We sold out of all of the beanies we'd brought with us to the event, and could not be more grateful for everyone who turned up to share the evening and celebrate with us. To say that the night was awesome would be understatement. It was incredible. We had so much fun!
