A call to action on the last day of 2013

It's been six years since we set out on this journey, armed with a mission statement, friendships, and a healthy dose of naivety. Over the course of that time we have experienced a range of emotions much broader than we formally knew existed. The greatest joys and the saddest sorrows have accompanied our steps. However, as we reflect upon this year, and the ones that preceded, we have realized that there are only 2 true constants in our work. 1) Our deep desire to see people EMPOWERED and 2) our amazing community of supporters. Strip all else away and Krochet Kids intl. stands upon those foundational elements. From day one we founded this organization as a non-profit in order to make it crystal clear why we existed. Empowerment was our aim and providing the best services to people living in poverty was the only option. It also allowed us the opportunity to invite more people into our work, not only through product sales, but through donations as well. In order to provide the level of services that we do (which you can read about in our Theory of Change) we raise a portion of our budget each year -- 100% of which goes directly to our programs on the ground in Uganda & Peru.
