SPRING 2012: WHAT WE CARRY
03.15.2012WHAT WE CARRY – SPRING 2012
What we carry, the items that we hold onto and cherish, offer a glimpse into who we are and what we are passionate about. They tell stories. They share about our vocation as well as our habits. Often times the things that we carry with us say more about who we are than we would be able to express otherwise.
An accessory from Krochet Kids intl. says something unique about you and what you value. It says that you make conscious decisions to purchase items not only for their aesthetic value, but for the impact they can have. You are a global citizen and you are using your personal style to promote the story of one individual whom is being empowered toward a brighter future. You realize you have a role to play in that.
Over the course of the next couple months we are going to dive into this idea further. We are going to be highlighting friends and supporters of KKi around the globe and asking them to put the things they carry on display for all to see.
Let’s lay it all out there. And let’s continue to be a community that is engaging the world in conversation about how we can creatively encourage and inspire those who need it.

I love your site and like to buy products for gifts but it is impossible to separate billing address from delivery address for gift purchases. You must change this!
WOW, what a BEAUTIFUL idea – It is so very true that you can know a lot about a person by what they carry both on there person AND in their heart!!! Blessings as you continue to explore this path. Love you all and miss seeing you!! Are you all playing soccer this year??? HUGS all around, momma cher
There should be a check box under your billing address to indicate whether the shipping address is the same or not. Email customercare [at] krochetkids.org with any questions.
Are the hoodies and t-shirts made the same way your crochet products are made by women who sign their work with the money going back to them?
@Kathy – our shirts are not currently made in our project locations, but it is our goal to eventually have all items made in the same empowering fashion as our accessories. However, the sale of those products go to supporting our programs on the ground and help people get involved in different ways. Thanks!
It’s interesting to see this post right now, I’ve been thinking a lot about how we vote with our dollar, show what we support with our purchases. When you begin to think about what you carry–and how embarrassing it could be if it was divulged–you begin to make better decisions about your spending, and then about your life.
